During the extensive multi-brand ‘European Truck Challenge’ (ETC) test organised by the renowned German trade magazine Truck & Trailer Welt, the XF 450 once again proved to be the best vehicle for both owner and driver in its segment. It outperformed the competition in terms of lowest operating costs and won the prestigious ‘Drivers Choice’ award. Both accolades clearly underline why the XF was unanimously voted ‘International Truck of the Year 2022’.
According to the German trade magazine Truck & Trailer Welt, the DAF XF 450 is unbeatably cost-efficient and voted ‘Drivers Choice’.
During the highly regarded annual European Truck Challenge, trucks from leading European truck manufacturers are extensively compared in terms of costs, handling, performance and driver comfort.
The ultimate in comfort
“Throughout the European Truck Challenge 2023, one tractor unit in particular consistently impressed the ETC test drivers: the New Generation DAF XF 450,” said Philipp Bönders, editor-in-chief of Truck & Trailer World. “In the test, no other cab offered more comfort, better equipment or a more attractive design. The DAF XF 450 was duly rewarded with the highest score in the driver rankings, resulting in the ETC Drivers Choice award for 2023.”
Ahead of the competition
“In addition, with the current fuel prices, the DAF XF 450 proved to be the most cost-efficient truck thanks to its very low combined fuel and AdBlue consumption,” according to test Truck & Trailer editor Hans-Jürgen Wildhage. “The smoothness the DAF XF 450 displayed while driving over the demanding ETC test route, including the mountain roads, was also impressive. I particularly liked the smooth running of the engine. And when it comes to fuel consumption when rolling on individual sections of the comparison test route, the Dutchman is clearly ahead of the competition.”
